Green Initiatives of the Proy Law Firm as a Small Business

 

 

A law firm is really no different than any other type of business. Nicholas Proy, the owner and founder of the Proy Law Firm, and the Proy Law Firm taken many green initiatives and have been recognized by the State of Maryland for helping build a smarter, greener and more sustainable Maryland through our responsible green initiatives.

 

The Proy Law Firm was accepted into the Maryland Green Registry in November of 2011 in recognition of our sustainable and green business practices.

 

Nicholas Proy and the Proy Law Firm are committed to a strong and proactive approach toward taking green initiatives. As a small business owner, Mr. Proy can implement green technologies and initiatives quickly and efficiently because there is no bureaucracy or "red tape" that stops him from doing so.

 

Some of the steps we have taken to help manage our natural resources and go green are:

 

• Using LED lighting in every fixture in our office. This not only reduces electricity consumption, but also reduces cooling costs in the summer (incandescent light bulbs produce unnecessary heat that requires additional cooling in the summer months).

   

  Using low power consumptions hard drives in all of our desktops and servers. These hard drives consume approximately half of the power as a standard hard drive, yet still perform like a standard hard drive.

   

  Using teleconferencing and e-mail whenever possible to cut down on unnecessary travel.

   

  All of our internal drafts and memoranda utilize double-sided printing. This reduces our internal paper use by approximately fifty percent (50%).
