Nicholas Proy's Hobbies and Interests

Browse hobby tools, references, and utilities

This section started with just a handful of pages tied to my hobbies. Over time, those pages grew in both number and scope, so I decided to bring everything together in one place to make everything easier to browse and compare.

One reason I keep working on these hobby pages is simple: I do not like gatekeeping. Good information should be easier to find, easier to compare, and easier to use. These pages are my small contribution toward making a few technical hobbies more open, more approachable, and more useful.

Every page here is built as static HTML, with no outside dependencies and no SQL databases behind the scenes. That keeps the site fast, secure, and practical for me to maintain while still making room for new tools, utilities, and reference pages as they are ready.

While Feist v. Rural Telephone held that raw facts are not copyrightable, it also affirmed that the specific selection, coordination, and arrangement of those facts into a unique database is legally protected. This site’s architecture is my own creative contribution to these hobbies, and I have built it this way to keep the information available as a free public utility rather than a resource for others to commercially harvest or clone.
