Licensing, Permissions, and Use of The Cognitive Craftsman™ System

The Cognitive Craftsman™ System is a structured, music-centered self-reflection system that helps readers notice emotional, logical, and social patterns through active listening, journaling, grounding, pattern recognition, and contextual reflection across the Emotional, Logical, and Social Cognitive Domains.

Permitted personal use

You may use the book and System for your own personal self-reflection, personal practice, journaling, self-education, and informal discussion with friends, family, trusted people, a therapist, or an uncompensated, noncommercial peer discussion group.

An informal peer group may describe itself only in neutral terms, such as an informal, unaffiliated peer discussion group of people interested in The Cognitive Craftsman™ book or System. It may not imply that it is sponsored, endorsed, approved, licensed, trained, certified, or affiliated with Emotional Craftsman, LLC.

What requires written permission

Except as expressly permitted in a written license from Emotional Craftsman, LLC, you may not teach, facilitate, train, coach, counsel, sell, certify others in, reproduce, distribute, adapt, publish, post, upload, or package the System or its Methods, Processes, Techniques, exercises, worksheets, prompts, scripts, templates, handouts, software, website content, examples, tables, appendices, or related materials into any training, coaching, therapy, consulting, educational, commercial, professional, institutional, online community, workshop, retreat, course, membership, peer-support program, software product, AI workflow, or other organized service.

You also may not use the System or related materials in client-facing services, professional offerings, organizational programs, commercial materials, certification programs, credentials, endorsements, marketing, training materials, websites, software, or related services without written authorization.

Uncompensated peer discussion

Uncompensated means without pecuniary interest or material compensation, direct or indirect, paid, promised, expected, solicited, or received. This includes fees, wages, honoraria, donations, tips, barter, referrals, promotion, business development, employer benefit, lead generation, client acquisition, or any other material benefit.

Cost-sharing for actual, noncommercial logistics is allowed only if no one profits or is compensated for organizing, hosting, teaching, facilitating, administering, or leading the group.

AI, software, and dataset restrictions

For personal reflection, you may privately use an individual Cognitive Equation, journaling prompt, or exercise question with AI as described in the book, provided that the use remains limited to that individual item and does not involve uploading or submitting substantial portions of the book, the System, software, worksheets, website content, prompts, Methods, Processes, Techniques, examples, tables, appendices, or related materials.

Except as expressly permitted in writing, you may not upload, copy, submit, reproduce, process, train on, fine-tune on, index, embed, scrape, mine, store in a dataset, or otherwise provide any substantial part of the book, System, software, website content, worksheets, prompts, Methods, Processes, Techniques, examples, tables, appendices, or similar materials to any Artificial Intelligence (AI), Large Language Model (LLM), machine-learning system, chatbot, training dataset, retrieval system, vector database, or similar technology.

Trademark and proprietary identifier notice

The following names, terms, labels, and marks are trademarks, claimed trademarks, or proprietary identifiers of Emotional Craftsman, LLC. They may not be used in branding, marketing, program titles, certifications, credentials, endorsements, commercial materials, training materials, software, websites, services, or related offerings without written permission from Emotional Craftsman, LLC.

Other branded terms, labels, names, marks, or proprietary identifiers used in the book or related materials are also protected and may not be used in a way that creates confusion, implies authorization, or suggests sponsorship, approval, affiliation, endorsement, certification, or licensing without written permission.

Certification and authorization language

You and/or your organization may not claim, imply, advertise, market, or hold yourself or itself out as Craftsman Certified™, a Master Cognitive Craftsman™, a Master Cognitive Craftsman Foreman™, or any similar certified, trained, approved, licensed, affiliated, endorsed, or authorized provider unless you first receive written certification, license, or authorization from Emotional Craftsman, LLC.

Purpose and intent

The System was written for personal self-reflection and self-education. Licensing exists to prevent professional or commercial deployment of the System, its Methods, Processes, Techniques, and related materials in ways that dilute fidelity, misrepresent the System as therapy, a clinical modality, a professional credential, or a substitute for qualified care, or create consumer confusion about what is and is not being offered.

If you are using the book and System privately, for your own self-reflection or self-education, and without compensation, you are using it as intended.

No clinical claims or professional licensure created

The System is not a clinical protocol, medical product, therapy method, treatment model, professional credential, certification, or license to practice any profession. A license to use System materials, if granted, does not authorize the licensee to practice psychology, therapy, counseling, medicine, law, social work, coaching, education, or any other regulated profession.

Licensed use of the System does not permit clinical claims, treatment claims, diagnosis, cure claims, prevention claims, or promises of specific outcomes. Any approved use must remain within the scope of the written license and within the user's independent professional authority, if any.

As-is disclaimer and limitation of liability

The System and related materials, including any Methods, Processes, Techniques, worksheets, prompts, examples, software, website content, appendices, and related materials, are provided as-is and as available, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Owner, Author, Publisher, affiliates, licensors, and related parties disclaim all warranties and liability for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, punitive, or other damages arising out of or relating to any use, misuse, interpretation, reliance on, implementation of, modification of, inability to use, or unauthorized use of the System or related materials, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
