One of my favorite repeater directories was ARRL's Travel Plus because I could install it locally and it didn't need a subscription. However, it was discontinued back in 2016. I wanted to re-create the experience of selecting a geographical area on a map and have a list of repeaters display, but ran into a few issues with the data because I wanted to remain unbound by anyone else's licensing restrictions. This required me to build the GIS mapping from scratch, as well as compile my own repeater datasets. As both an amateur radio (WT3O) and a GMRS (WRXR545) licensee, I thought I would combine both radio services together under one directory for maximum utility.
This directory is for people who want a usable way to search repeaters by map, location, band, and radius without fighting a clumsy interface or relying on incomplete local memory. It is meant to function as a practical repeater lookup tool first: fast enough to help with planning, travel, programming, or basic situational awareness when you are trying to find what is nearbyThis tool provides a structured, searchable reference for amateur radio and GMRS repeaters, combining an interactive U.S. map with filtering, lookup, and detailed repeater information. It is designed to make it easier to locate and evaluate repeaters based on location, frequency, and operational characteristics.
Repeater information is often fragmented across multiple sources, with varying levels of completeness and accessibility. This tool consolidates that data into a single interface, allowing users to search geographically, apply filters, and review results in a consistent format.
The system is built for practical use, including real-time lookup and optional export of results for offline reference, making it suitable for both planning and field use without relying on multiple disconnected resources.
I am adding repeaters to this directory often!
